Fashion Tips For Women
The Spring Summer 2011 fashion season is on the way so those who like to stay ahead of the fashion pack will be looking to update their wardrobe. One of the hottest trends for this season is the 70s look with wide leg culottes, tunics, maxi dresses and oversized sunglasses all featuring heavily on the catwalk. You may not be bold enough to go for the whole look but the maxi dress is easy enough for anyone to wear and you can also incorporate another one of this seasons key trends ‘floral’ by investing in a maxi dress with a flower print.
If you are fed up with skinny jeans or just don’t have the legs for them then the good news is that flared jeans and trousers are making a comeback. The flared jean/trouser falls into the 70s boho chic look but can also look smarter and more sophisticated – think Bianca Jagger! Flared trousers and jeans generally look better when teamed up with a pair of heels, if you are very tall you can perhaps get away with a flat sandal for the ultimate 70s boho chic look but for most people it’s definitely best to stick to heels. Platform shoes and wedge shoes are the perfect match for flares and wide legged trousers – they are also usually easier to walk in. For the more daring types who want to fully embrace the 70s look flared trousers were also seen on the catwalks with bold prints or made from crochet.
Skirt trends for the Spring Summer 2011 season featured three key looks. Mid length pencil skirts are still popular and were seen on the catwalks for this season but the big news for skirts right now is pleats. Pleated skirts were seen on several of the top fashion designers catwalks and this is a very feminine look that many women will love. Also seen on the catwalks were tutu-like skirts inspired by the success of the ballet themed film Black Swan. Gentle organza and sheer tutu skirts in pale grays, pinks and blues give a very feminine and romantic look.
One trend that anyone can wear this season, no matter what their shape or size, is the head to toe all white look. This look tends to resurface in the summer months and is easy to recreate. White tunics were very popular in long and short styles on the catwalks and are the perfect way to show off your holiday suntan. Tunics came trimmed with lace and Broiderie Anglais or embroidered to keep in with this season’s 70s fashion vibe.
But if neutrals aren’t your thing then you will be pleased to hear that bright, bold and neon colors featured heavily in this season’s catwalk shows. Basically every color imaginable was seen in its neon form and these aren’t as difficult to wear as you may initially think. Color blocking two bright colors together can work well and make a dramatic statement or wear one color alone and accessorize accordingly.
